Invertebrates
The invertebrate fauna in the Karkonosze remains very poorly researched. Slightly better known groups are arachnids, julidae, leeches, molluscs and insects: certain selected families of beetles and butterflies. In recent years the beetles associated with decaying wood have been examined thoroughly. A species lists of some insect families have been published already. What deserves a special attention here is the endemic and relict wildlife. The list of endemits includes butterfly psodos quadrifarius sudeticus. In addition to the already mentioned relics (see above) we notice spiders like Bolyphanthes luteolus, Acantholycosa norvegica, Pardosa saltuaria and bettles: Ctenicera cuprea and Amara erratica. Formerly the Karkonosze Mountains have been a home to the apollo and the clouded apollo. The last of these species is restored to the nature of the Karkonosze by the reintroduction program, that is being carried out here.
